AOSP bring-up

Tue Jan 10, 2017 8:25 am

I realize that every device is different, and their there cannot be a guide that covers everything; however, most of the guys that I know that are interested would be able to find their way if they had a base to work from. I would like to see a tutorial that covers the base of an AOSP port. E.g. the minimum necessary files (device.mk, Boardconfig.mk, etc) as well as possibly some information on relating to sepolicy updates. (I'm trying to figure out an AOSP bring up now; if I it, if be glad to document it and possibly turn that into a tutorial, but since I've been messing with this since nougat sources dropped, it's beginning to feel unlikely that I will figure it out without some help.)

Are you asking for a guide to port a ROM where you have an existing ROM and you copy binary files from another ROM into it and repack?
Or are you asking about adding your device to an existing ROM using source?

If it is the latter, then this is a duplicate request of this other thread isn't it?
